Today, the Blue Star announced that Daniel Gerson would become the restaurant's new executive chef. The city staple and perennial Best Of winner has been without a confirmed kitchen head since the departure of Brent Beavers a year ago and, before him, longtime executive chef James Davis.
A news release says that Gerson studied at the Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and has since held executive chef positions at Paris' Prince de Galles as well as time spent in Sedona, Ariz.
A posting on ihirechefs.com says Gerson is fluent in Hebrew ? due to time spent cooking in Israel ? French and English. Look for more in the coming weeks.
