DIY Geek Haven Needs Your Help

Noisebridge is a San Francisco-based hackerspace and DIY community center--in other words, if you're reading this blog and live in the Bay Area, the work it does would probably be right up your alley. But according to a report last week from San Francisco's Uptown Almanac blog, Noisebridge is in financial trouble, and could close in the coming weeks.

The good news is that, judging from a comment posted to Uptown Almanac on Wednesday, Noisebridge now has enough in reserves to keep it going for three months. But given the ongoing tough economic climate, Noisebridge can use all the help it can get.

And you can help. Noisebridge accepts donations on its Website, and since it's a non-profit educational organization, your donation may be tax-deductible (though, as Noisebridge points out, the tax-deductibility will depend on several factors, so check with a tax professional to find out how it applies to you).

Long live Noisebridge, and let the hacking continue!
